London (Re)generation

16th February, 8.30-9.30am
(registration from 8am)

NLA, The Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London, WC1E 7BT

Plans to regenerate East London and transform the capital are integral to the vision of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The latest issue of AD brings into focus notions of regeneration within the specific context of London: what does the term actually mean, how has it been applied and is it being applied? Now the NLA are hosting AD for a breakfast talk on the subject, and bringing together a great selection of names to speak.

Looking beyond the Games, we will look at the direction in which regeneration is going in a post-recession economy. How can a long-established, highly protected and even cherished city, like London, continue to renew and expand?

Join the NLA and AD for an insightful discussion on how a Western city, London in particular, can greet the pressures for change.

• David Littlefield, UWE and guest-editor of AD
• Peter Murray, Chairman, NLA
• Sir Terry Farrell, Farrells
• Murray Fraser, Bartlett School of Architecture
